Yeah, I still don't get it. Outside of the girls that can relate to Taylor's lyrics, her singing voice is just average. She's a pretty girl, not stunning. Her songs aren't jams or memorable, they are anthems for the demographic she appeals to. And it's 2024, technological advances make it seamless for a singer to sing part of the song live, while lip-synching other parts. Most pop singers do this except for a few pure vocalists like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion. Many others simply jump on the Taylor bandwagon because they want to feel relevant and part of the conversation. They hand her album of the year awards at the Grammys now. There's no way all 4 years she had the best album of the year. That's an insult to other acclaimed artists. More album of the year awards than all black women combined. Really? Given the contributions of black women to all genres of music, how can that even.happen (??). During the Grammy broadcast, notice that every performance when panning to the audience always honed in on Taylor Swift. It's called ratings. ...And don't get me started on the Celine Dion diss. That backstage photo was a PR photo op. The PR team noticed negative twitter comments in real time and acted quickly. Also Taylor needs to quit acting like she's so shocked when she wins. She expects it, hence the opposite reaction so it doesn't look like she expects it. Take a queue from icons of the past like Mariah, Whitney, Diana, Barbra, and Celine, and accept recognition with a little more class and grace.

I wonder if celebrities think about what their fans have to do to come up with the money to attend these performances. I am not hating on Taylor, but I don’t think celebrities think about any of it. Everyone is so in love with celebrity. A celebrity in my world is the doctor who did triple bypass surgery on my brother who coded on the angiogram table; pretty sure he is not a billionaire for the lives he saves. Same goes for sports celebrities. Money is not the root of all evil, but the love of it is.
